Kizu Market Parking Complete Guide: Thorough Explanation of Car Access, Fees, and Discount Services

Osaka Kizu Wholesale Market (hereinafter referred to as Kizu Market) is known as "Osaka's kitchen." From early morning, it bustles with many chefs and general customers seeking fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables, and professional-grade ingredients.

Kizu Market boasts an excellent location, just a short walk from Daikokucho Station. However, for those who want to buy a large quantity of ingredients at once, enjoy shopping without getting wet on a rainy day, or visit with family from afar, car access is overwhelmingly more convenient. Yet, many people visiting the market by car for the first time may feel anxious about "where to park," "whether the fees are expensive," or "if there are any discount services."

In particular, it's not uncommon to lose out by not knowing the market's unique "parking discount rules." Kizu Market's parking discount is not applied by simply "showing your ticket at the register" like in a typical shopping mall.

Kizu Market Parking Basic Information

Kizu Market is equipped with a large parking lot for customers. As it is located within the market premises, you can immediately load heavy purchases into your car, which is very convenient.

There are two main parking areas: the "1st Floor Surface Parking Lot" and the "2nd Floor Multi-Story Parking Lot."

Parking Capacity and Features

Category Capacity Features
1st Floor Surface Parking Lot Approx. 60 vehicles Located on the south side of the market, near the commercial supermarket ODA. Convenient for quick stops and short shopping trips, but fills up quickly due to limited spaces.
2nd Floor Multi-Story Parking Lot Approx. 230 vehicles This is the main parking lot located on the 2nd floor of the market building. It has a large capacity and is covered, allowing access to the market without getting wet on rainy days. You can take the market's elevator down to the 1st floor shop area.
Total Approx. 290 vehicles

Access and Entrance to the Parking Lot

The "parking lot entrance" is where first-time visitors to Kizu Market by car are most likely to get lost. The area around the market has one-way streets and heavy traffic, so it is recommended to check your route in advance.

The parking lot entrance is located along "National Route 25" which runs along the north side of the market.

Access Guide by Direction

  • From Namba/Motomachi area: Head south on National Route 25, turn left at the "Motomachi 3" intersection. Then, turn right at the "Shikitsuhigashi 1" intersection, and the market parking entrance will be on your left.
  • From Sakai/Suminoe area: Head north on National Route 26, turn right at the "Daikoku" intersection onto National Route 25. Continue straight, and you will see the market on your right.
  • Using Hanshin Expressway: Exit Hanshin Expressway Route 1 Loop Line at "Namba." Go straight, turn right at the first traffic light. Then, turn right at the "Shikitsuhigashi 1" intersection to arrive.

The entrance has a "P" mark and a ramp. Go up the ramp for the 2nd-floor parking lot. If you wish to use the 1st-floor surface parking lot, please follow the signs within the premises.

Parking Fees

Parking fees may differ between the 1st and 2nd floors. Here, we introduce the basic fees for the frequently used "1st Floor Surface Parking Lot." For details on the 2nd-floor parking and the latest fee settings, please check the signs on-site or the official website.

1st Floor Surface Parking Lot Basic Fees

  • Hourly Rate: 200 yen for every 30 minutes
  • Maximum Rate: 1,200 yen for up to 24 hours after entry

*The above fees are for normal periods.
*During the New Year holidays (approx. December 28th to January 8th) and the Toka Ebisu festival (Imamiya Ebisu Shrine festival), special rates may apply. The maximum rate setting may also be suspended, so please check the sign near the gate upon entry.

How to Use Parking Discount Services

This is the most important point we want to convey in this article. Kizu Market's parking discount service operates differently from typical supermarkets or malls.

If you assume "they'll discount it if I show my parking ticket at the register" and try to exit, you will be charged the regular fee at the exit. Please be sure to follow the procedures below.

The Golden Rule for Discount Application: Procedures are done at the "Security Office"

If you shop at any of the market stores (fishmongers, greengrocers, butchers, dried goods stores, etc.), the cashiers at these stores do not process parking tickets.

After finishing your shopping or meal, you must personally take your parking ticket to the "market's security office."

Types and Conditions of Discount Services

Kizu Market offers broadly three types of discount patterns depending on the facility used.

① When shopping at stores within the market

  • Benefit: 90 minutes free
  • Conditions: Shopping at eligible stores within the market (fresh fish, vegetables, meat, dried goods, Japanese cuisine, etc.).
  • Procedure:
    1. Always carry the "parking ticket" issued upon entry.
    2. Purchase items at a store (keep receipts or proof of purchase if available).
    3. After all shopping is complete, go to the "Security Office" on the 1st floor of the market.
    4. Present your parking ticket (and proof of purchase) to the security guard to receive the discount.
  • Security Office Location/Contact:
If you cannot find the location, please ask a nearby store staff or call the number below.
    Security Office TEL: 06-6631-1135

② When using the commercial supermarket ODA (O-D-A)

  • Benefit: 90 minutes free
  • Conditions: Customers who make purchases of 1,500 yen or more at ODA.
  • Procedure: Please confirm at ODA's service counter or cashier. Note that conditions differ from general market stores.

③ When using Yugenkutsu Taihei no Yu (Super Sento)

  • Benefit: Discount available for bath use, bath + bedrock bath use, etc.
  • Conditions: Free time varies depending on the facility usage (e.g., 2 hours free for bath use only).
  • Procedure: Present your parking ticket at Taihei no Yu's front desk.

Notes on Discounts

  • Market Closure Days: On market holidays such as New Year's or temporary closures, the discount service at the security office may not be available.
  • Don't Forget to Process: If you realize "Oh, I forgot to process it!" after returning to your car, discounts cannot be applied at the exit gate. Always stop by the security office before getting into your car.

Notes for Visiting by Car

There are a few points to keep in mind when visiting Kizu Market by car. Please read them to ensure a smooth shopping experience.

Regarding Early Morning Hours

As Kizu Market is a "wholesale market," professional chefs and vendor trucks enter and exit heavily in the early morning (late night to around 8 AM). Forklifts and large trucks frequently traverse the market grounds and surrounding roads.
The recommended time for general customers to visit is after 9 AM, but if you come earlier, please pay close attention to working vehicles within the market.

Congestion During Year-End/New Year Holidays and Events

Around the end of the year (especially December 28th to 31st), the surrounding roads become heavily congested with customers seeking New Year's ingredients. It is not uncommon to wait over an hour just to enter the parking lot.
Additionally, during the "Toka Ebisu" festival held annually from January 9th to 11th, the parking lots often fill up with visitors to the nearby Imamiya Ebisu Shrine.
For these specific periods, the official recommendation is to "use public transportation." Trying to go by car may reduce your shopping time.

After Shopping, Please Stop by "Wa no Shoku"

Once your parking worries are resolved, please enjoy shopping at the market to your heart's content.

After stocking up on fresh fish and vegetables, please stop by our store, "Wa no Shoku," located on the market's main street.

We sell "premium Japanese canned food" supervised by a former Nadaman chef. Unlike fresh foods, these can be stored and carried at room temperature, so there's no need to worry about them losing freshness even if left in the car. They are perfect as souvenirs for those traveling far or as stock for your home.

Furthermore, while many stores within the market only accept cash, Wa no Shoku fully supports cashless payments such as credit cards and electronic money.
This provides peace of mind even if you've "run out of cash but want to buy one more thoughtful souvenir."
